Conservateur depuis 2005 au Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, à New York, Megan Fontanella a organisé une trentaine d’expositions dans les différents musées Guggenheim, à Berlin, Bilbao, New York et Venise, notamment Visionaries: Creating a Modern Guggenheim (2017); Art of Another Kind: International Abstraction and the Guggenheim, 1949–1960 (2012); and The Great Upheaval: Modern Art from the Guggenheim Collection, 1910–1918 (2011). Megan Fontanella a été co-commissaire de l’exposition Giacometti (2018) et a dirigé Alberto Burri: The Trauma of Painting (2015-2016).
